Blue Team

Competition Blue Teams will be playing a critical role in helping to return markets to normal trading activity, acting as contractors with a major integration company hired by the SEC to establish and operate a backup operations center on the West coast. In this role, their primary job will be to restore critical connections to the exchanges, IT services for the analysts, and protect the data received from the feeds. This data is absolutely critical to maintaining market integrity, and if compromised, could introduce extreme volatility into the markets, further undermining investor confidence. The person(s) responsible for the attacks are still at large and are assumed to be searching for your disaster recovery site. It is assumed that after the failover of the “warm” systems on the West coast, the cyber terrorists will resume their infiltration attempts in order to “finish the job” and tear down all of the remaining infrastructure of the financial markets.
